Marcella

Poland – 2025/06/16

Marcella (56) feels down, tired and affected by the weather. Climate change is something she senses clearly in the seasons: winter no longer arrives to freeze out insects, and summer has become unusually cold.

When she thinks about it, she recalls the vivid contrast of her childhood – real winters with snow and frost, warm summers full of life. That sense of loss is deep. Looking ahead, she’s afraid: of floods, hurricanes, and the growing unpredictability of weather. What brings her hope is the wish to travel and enjoy life once she retires – still believing in beauty and joy, even in an uncertain world.

“These kinds of weather anomalies… they definitely cause fear.”

“I hope that when I retire, I’ll be able to travel and enjoy life – without regrets.”
